In NYC, nothing lasts nearly four decades for no reason.
Grazie to our loyal customers, who have helped us endure 34 years of our family ownership on Broome Street, Little Italy.

On my trip to NYC my only goal was eating lots of great food...especially pizza!!! Sal’s did not disappoint. A local that I was with took us here. 7 young women = 2 large pies, 2 appetizers (calamari & fried mozzarella) = full, happy bellies.
The pies were perfect!!!!! The server was polite and prompt. The manager was very friendly. I felt that I got the real NY Italian hospitality.
“Wow!” 5 stars
Great place by Mulberry Street! Walked into several restaurants looking for an authentic Italian joint but were surprised that there were not any Italian people working there. We when came in to Sal’s we loved the fact that it was a real family owned Italian restaurant. We had the lunch specials which included a salad, entree, and glass of sangria. We ordered the fried mozzarella and it was delicious. It came with homemade marinara sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs and spaghetti carbonara tasted very good. We had a great waitress that even offered to charge our phones while we dined.
Group of 6 of us dined here. Pizza was delicious, the fried calzone was out of this world. The guy who waited on us (manager - I think) treated us like royalty n was extremely accommodating. I highly recommend this gem!
I’m a foodie, and for me Little Italy is a slice of heaven. My go-to is Sal’s Little Italy. Sal’s remains family-owned and operated by the Triolo brothers (Francesco, Vincenzo, and Massimo) and you’re sure to find one of them there when you stop by. The Mozzarella Carrozza might be one of the top five things I’ve ever had, it’s slices of fresh mozzarella in white bread, breaded with flour and egg, and lightly fried; it’s amazing! The Bianca, Classico or Tutte Le Carni pizzas are just mouthwatering.

"It was awesome! Loved it!! If we ever go back to NYC we will definitely stop in again!"
Best fried calzones, other food is great too. Worth the money.
Amazing pizza! Wish to have more time to spend here best pizza
If you ever get the chance to get remotely close to Sals, you must must eat there. That is the best pizza I have ever put into my mouth and the service was phenomenal!
Sal’s is simply the best food in NYC. But what makes the place so perfect is the owner, Frank Triolo!
I’ve been a customer for over 30 years. It’s great food from a slice to full diner every time. Our office caters lunchs from them also. We have some of our customers order food to there cars from there and they are very very pleased with the food. Carmen from Balter

Sal’s has been around forever and been consistent through the years. No-frills with good food. Not only do we like popping by for the fantastic fried calzone (not many places authentically fry the calzones..... but they do....ad we can vouch it is worth the calories), but also for an entree of good homemade, basic Italian food — particularly the chicken marsala (my favorite.) Even though it is not the biggest restaurant in the neighborhood, we have still come to the restaurant with a large group for lunch and dinner. Pizzas are really good — and rival most pizza places in the area, including Lombardi’s. Seriously, the calzones are really that good....

Love this restaurant! It was my bfs first visit to New York so I was so excited to take him to get some real NY pizza and Great Italian food! Sal’s has an amazing staff member I cannot remember his name because we met so many people but he was awesome and very friendly. The food was amazing I love visiting and getting some great Italian food! Will return again!
They have amazing food. The sangria was better than the bar we were at before. And our server Gabby was by far the nicest girl, best service, and a most pleasant experience. This is officially our “new spot”!
Great cozy atmosphere great food and we had a great waitress got everything you could want and I give the sausage and peppers 5 stars

I truly don’t understand the negative reviews on here. I’ve eaten here twice and have recommended it to friends, all of whom have gone back. My first time was with a large party, and we were quickly seated in the back. It was about 20 minutes before the ton of food we ordered arrived. Now, this group of people was entirely first generation Italian; we know our pizza and it did not disappoint. We were even serenaded by a traditional Italian accordion player.
The second time was just as good as the first. Very friendly and accommodating servers. Again, the pizza is perfect. The right amount of crunch on the dough with the perfect amount of oil and melted cheese on top. My friend ordered a broccoli rabe and said it was delicious.
And the price point for a NYC restaurant is unbeatable. Can’t wait to return.
Amazing, the real deal. Touring the city w/ family from NC, cluelessly looking for and craving some tasty NY Pizza among hundreds of options. By chance pulled in front of Sal’s to get our bearings in Little Italy. The two (apparent) owners out front bantering and gesturing in Italian w/ customers and neighbors. Big decision here; we’re only in the city for one day, we got one shot. Decided to go for it. Got a large pepperoni pie. Aaaand...they nailed it.
Food was delicious! NY personal pizza, shrimp pasta and fettuccine all great. Fettuccine was probably the best I have had.
Francesco the Host and my waitress were amazing. I ordered veal parmigiana. I’m Italian, and it tasted just like my grandmother’s! Everyone at the restaraunt was warm and welcoming. It was amazing. I will definitely be visiting again. I live in NYC in east Harlem (40 min away via subway). Definitely willing to come back!

I ordered a pizza from Sal’s through Seamless. It was perfect and exactly what I wanted. I ordered the Individual Napoletana Pizza. It was the best pizza I’ve had in Nolita so far.
Sal’s hit it out of the ballpark again. I like coming here for my Southern Italian comfort food fix. Instead of having our favorite fried calzones (see my previous fan reviews), we shared a pizza and a chicken parm platter (1st time having it at Sal’s.) I once saw a review slam Sal’s chicken parm, so I wanted to see for myself. I don’t know what they were talking about. The chicken parm dish was humongous and delicious. Tasted like homemade chicken parm my Mom used to make. We will visit again soon to get our calzone fix. Only disappointment was not being able to sit outside, because every table was taken (small area.). Been coming for years and will still be coming back again soon! Great family restaurant. Decent wine list.

Nice family restaurant. We like coming here with the family for pizza and more. The staff makes you feel welcome. The pizza is good and tasty. We usually a couple of pies with an entree or two. We like the Marsala, bolognese and grilled shrimp dishes. It is a good, no-frills Southern Italian restaurant. Like everyone says “the famous fried calzones” are amazing.
Great calzones and salad. I enjoy this friendly neighborhood place for a fried calzone and salad. The margarita pizza is also a good choice. It’s a nice simple updated restaurant (pizzeria upfront and restaurant in back.) Older reviews are based on old location down the street. Plenty of other entree choices on the menu, but I usually default to fried calzones since it is the best and hard to find in NYC.
